City of Mesa Cup Comforter

This is meant to be the City of Mesa, where I spent so many summers working for the Parks & Recreation Department. After years of coaching, teaching swim lessons, and lifeguarding, I spent a season driving a city truck around from pool to pool making sure everyone had the proper equipment for their events. This is a little homage to the city. There are just a few tall buildings, some low antique stores, and plenty of empty lots. I made this one extra tall so that people with bigger hands can still be protected.

Treasury to Honor Bees

Albert Einstein said... "If the bee disappeared off the face of the globe then man would have four more years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man."

Check it out and let me know what you think :)
It is expiring tonight, so don't delay.

The modeling beeswax reminds me of the road trip my family took from California to Illinois and Wisconsin when I was young. I could sit and soften and mold that colorful, beautifully smelling wax for hours. I would create everything from horses and turtles to my perennial favorite, flowers. Beeswax has always been really special to me and in a long, roundabout way, the reason I now have my store.
It's time to honor the bees and take a moment to realize how important they are to our very existence.

Cheaper by the Dozen

New cupcakes are here!
I developed a new technique that doesn't use any chemicals to change my regular aloe vera soap into a creamy, fluffy frosting. I am so excited about it and just in time. These are my first dozen and they are going to be party favors for a birthday this weekend. I hope no kids try to eat them. Even I had to keep reminding myself not to lick my fingers while I was frosting them ;)  I also hope that people will actually use them and come back for more. They are really so gentle on the skin and there are no colors added at all, with the exception of the sprinkles, which are real food sprinkles. They will wash off the first time you use them though, so I'm not worried about them staining. I may have to give one to my gluten-free friends who is always wishing I made cake without flour so she could have some, too.
Here is what my client had to say this morning: "Sarah - I LOVE the soaps - thank you thank you thank you! My kitchen smelled SO good last night! I like the frosting too! I have them in my closet right now - to keep them out of the kids' hands - and every time I go in there I get hungry! :-)"

First Treasury

I was able to post my first Treasury today on Etsy! ~ It is made up of some of my favorite items from some of my favorite sellers. The theme is basically women and mothers during the day in the morning, taking care of children, going to meetings, and having a night out on the town.

Easter week has arrived!

Today is not too late to order candy-alternative gifts for Easter!
I can just imagine a few pastel candles tucked into the grass for a lovely brunch decor, or a fun cupcake cup comforter nestled into a basket for hot chocolate-sipping comfort. Maybe a festive cupcake soap? All last longer than candy and less cavities :)
I am getting really excited about it. Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. Taking advantage of the weather before the scorching heat arrives. We are off to Joe's Farm Grill for my birthday lunch today.
